ABOUT US
Welcome to golfing heaven. With over 200 golf courses to choose from throughout the Principality, Wales really provides true golfing connoisseurs and newer players with everything they are looking for when planning a break to the 'Land of My Fathers'.

Established in 1991, the early pioneering work on in bound golf tourism started at a time when Ian Woosnam was world number 1 and the US Masters champion. Throughout the 1990’s the company grew slowly and this the first web site www.welshgolfingholidays.co.uk was launched in 1999. Since then and particularly from 2007 Wales Golf Holidays has grown exponentially and has now has become the largest golf tour operator in Wales, looking after the golf holiday requirements of over 5000 golfers a year. Now with 17 web sites specialising in golf holidays and breaks to the different regions and areas in Wales, golfers coming into Wales, from all over the world, spend upwards of £4m in the local economies that they visit.
As Mark Pearce, Managing Director says, “it is good news all round as Wales now offers a quality, welcoming and value golf destination which has been invigorated by the 2010 Ryder Cup, the work of The Welsh Assembly Government and the recent news that Royal Porthcawl is to host the 2014 British Seniors Open Championship”.
Ian Richardson who recently collected, on behalf of the company, the South Wales Retail Business of the year (2011) award says “the company’s plans are now set to deliver even more growth over the next 2 years making Wales an established golf destination that is a must for all holiday golfers”.
The area of South Wales plays host to some real historic milestones within the game of golf. The Glamorganshire Golf Club, situated just outside the magnificent and beautiful capital city of Wales, Cardiff, has a special affiliation with the great game. It was here that a gentleman by the name of Dr Frank Stableford designed a brand new format of scoring back in 1898. The Stableford points system is now played world wide by golfers.
St Pierre Golf Club in Chepstow, being the gateway to Wales, overlooks the Severn Bridge and has hosted some of the largest professional tournaments. Again the world's best have graced this lovely parkland course and more recently the women professionals of Europe and America contested the Solheim Cup over this wonderful test of all-round golf.
Royal Porthcawl has hosted the Walker Cup, where the great Tiger Woods played in one of his last amateur tournaments. It will now be host in 2014 for the Seniors Open.
The Celtic Manor Resort is now known throughout the golfing world as the home of the 2010 Ryder Cup. The Twenty Ten course is a must play for anyone wanting to relive the magic of what unfolded on Monty’s Magic Monday. We have set up a dedicated Celtic Manor Breaks link for this special venue.
Golf in Mid, West and North Wales is also a must. West Wales has links gems in Ashburnham, Tenby and the new Machynys Penninsula. Whilst mid Wales boasts the picturesque parkland courses of Cradoc, Llandrindod Wells and Builth Wells as well as the challenging links of Borth & Ynyslas, Cardigan and Aberdovey. If Links golf is your preference then North Wales is a must for you. Take on Conwy, Nefyn, Prestatyn, North Wales & Maesdu...you will not be disappointed.
