Course Introduction and Description:
Founded in 1928 Llanwern Golf Club is a parkland course on the outskirts of Newport, the host city of the 2010 Ryder Cup.
Situated just a couple of miles from junction 24 of the M4 Llanwern is not only easily accessible but offers the visiting golfer a good golfing challenge. In fact Llanwern GC can be considered a real hidden gem at over 6100 yards par 70 with an outward par 36 and an inward 34 that includes a devilishly difficult back 6 holes.
Nicely presented throughout, the course invites you score well on the first 4 holes and then teases you with an array tricky holes that reward precision off the tee and from fairway to green. The greens are small, speedy and true and will expose a poor putting stroke. The par 3 18th hole points you to the bar for a well deserved refreshment or 2!
